Nurturing Our Native Coastal Plants
Over the years, Hawaii's threatened marine and terrestrial habitats have suffered the most damage by human influence:
- marine debris
- continuous introduction of highly invasive alien coastal plant species.
Becoming involved in the removal of alien invasive weeds such as Biden's weed, Chinese Violet, and Ivy Gourd around adopted areas of Hanauma Bay will give our coastal native plant species a chance to recover. Other activities such as mulching and planting native species can ensure longevity for the future.
